Dinners in 30 minutes or less

Now that we’ve moved to an area that has real grocery stores, we have a weekend routine of picking dinner recipes for the week, taking our Rolser, and doing a big shop for all the ingredients.

We figured that our first week with Piper would mean a lot of adjustments for everyone, so we planned on meals that would be quick and uncomplicated to prepare (whipped up during puppy naps).  We are great fans of after-work dinners that bill themselves as having less than 30 minutes’ active time, and so in the past couple of years have amassed quite a collection.

For puppy week one, we drew on a couple of sources to make our shopping list:  Canadian Living’s Make it Tonight cookbook and this article in the August 2008 issue of Real Simple magazine.
